Today I accompanied a friend who had to go to shop at Whole Foods. Since I had nothing to do, I walked around and compared prices. Wow…Yes, everything costs more. That is why it is called “Whole Check.” I am like this is not sustainable. Of course, people near West LA are much wealthier but still…Yes, I saw an army of Instacart people. Yet everything was so expensive considering real estate, more trained/ hipster staff, and cooler layout. Personally, I like the merchandise in Whole Foods but still it’s too expensive. At one point, I just stopped comparing prices.

I know that Whole Foods will soon come up with a budget store and is centralizing certain purchases to lower cost but wow…still I find the prices SHOCKING. Anyway, hope the competition keeps catching up and Whole Foods become a bit more affordable.

Despite the Whole Food’s decline in stock price, I think Whole Food will be around. It has a strong brand and it does have good stuff. It just needs to be more affordable.
