So Brexit happened and the markets tanked. Even though the exit will be a gradual process, the markets processed the shock up to the far future. A nice drop. So what did I do? Well, I looked at my portfolio and found that some my stocks dropped 5-7%. Did I cry? Nope. I realized that many of my community banks stocks dropped, which has nothing to do with Brexit. These small community banks are local and are totally unrelated to Britain. They are mainly exposed to real estate and commercial loans in their small cities. Plus, the community bank consolidation trend will not stop, as community banks merge to cope with higher regulatory costs and low interest rates. So seeing a highly achievable 5-7% return, I bought more community bank stocks. Investing is the only area, where people run away when prices fall. But Buffett and others make the most money when there is blood on the streets. It is a good day for investing.
