There is an excellent post about the CEO-to-Worker pay analysis. The widely cited CEO-to-Worker ratio that easily hover 100 times is likely to be exaggerated.  First, it is from a small sample, which is a big no no in statistics. Second, it uses total CEO compensation to worker’s cash income, which does not include all the other benefits.Finally, the part time workers may not be the proper comparison given CEO is a full time job.

I do not disagree that the richest 1% got richer the most over the years and that many CEOs are overpaid using any standard or analysis. However, I really appreciated this article because it showed that we should be careful when looking at numbers from media. We should always read the notes and the appendixes to figure out how the numbers were calculated. Again, excellent point about rigorous research.
