Today I begin a new series of blog posts about random encounters in my life. Or let’s just say random things that I see and that make me think. So here is today’s stuff that I have saw and felt.

I came back from grocery shopping because the house was too hot. It was so hot that I felt like a pizza in a oven but alive with freewill. So I went to get some soda and other snacks. On the way back home, I met this guy at the elevator. And he was drunk and breathing heavily. Hmmm…it’s Sunday, doesn’t he have to go to work tomorrow? Also, why is he breathing so heavily. Do I need to do CPR? Should I have my fingers on 911?

Luckily, he walked out fine out of the elevator. But the ten seconds in the elevator felt quite longer than expected. After he left and I arrived home, I just wondered why is that man so drunk? Was he just having a good time? Well, his face was not having a good time. Maybe it was booze. But what I instinctively knew was that something was wrong. Something was wrong and he had to self-medicate. Whatever, it was. It was not for fun. As I now write this post, I remind myself not only should we drink responsibly but pray for others who are suffering. The world may tell you that it’s one responsibility to take care of themselves but as we know there are way too many problems right now to let things slides.

Let us be good Christians and be compassionate. Let us pray for those who are in pain and that Jesus heals them.
