Today, I got frustrated. I mean really frustrated.
I have been doing research for some time so I am aware of data issues. But today, I got really upset.
I was mad that the data base company did not clean the data well. Then I was upset because other researchers did not check much either. Wow!
Of course, you can say that there will be always errors and noise. Yes, I agree. But when there are data points that are so obviously wrong then something should have been done!
I was fuming because I searched the web to see if there was a way around it. Nope!
Then I realized I was being rebellious. Unthankful! So I repented. I gave thanks.
Now another millions things that I should be thankful for 😀
First, I am thankful that I can do research. It’s sounds very nerdy but I like it. I like to play with data and learn new things. Hopefully, my findings will be useful.
Second, I am thankful that I have a PC that I can use to do research. When I was young, PCs were so expensive and slow. hahahaha. Thank you my good PC.
Third, I am thankful for the data bases. Yes, they have problems and yes they have monopolistic power. But they have gotten better and I can’t imagine research without them. I am good at building data but building EVERYTHING is another level.
Fourth, I am thankful that God gave me the ability to handle data. I am sure that there are many people who are better than me in data cleaning. However, I am thankful that I have sense when I see data. I feel something is off so I check and find things.
Fifth, I am thankful that I have pleasant room, a desk, a chair, internet, and electricity to do research. Yes, thank You Jesus.
Sixth, I am thankful that I can repent. I am so wicked yet Holy Spirit helps me repent and renews me. I pray that I become more loving and patient every day.
Seventh, I am thankful that I am alive. My life has been very blessed. It has been uber blessed ever since I started knowing Jesus more. I have a very long way to go but I am thankful that I started a journey.
Thank You Jesus for another blessed day. Let us remember to be extra thankful every day 😀
