I found a nice article about highway advertisement.
What really surprised me was the cost, many states just charge few hundred to a thousand dollar per year to put the logo on the blue sign on the highway.
WHAT!! So cheap! Even print advertisement that no one reads costs about that much or more!
I can tell you that people do pay quite a lot of attention to the blue signs on the high way because well, we need to find places to drink coffee and go to the bathroom.
It is undoubtedly an effective advertisement tool!
Given that most states are tight on budget, it would be a great idea to raise the cost to advertise on the blue signs! Even if they double the price, businesses would still advertise given the eye balls that look at the sign!
So state governments please do raise the price of advertising on the blue signs and help out the state residents ^^
