I am very sad to read this article about Darmoth being sued for not accommodating a blind student.
Everyone has the right to learn and people learn differently. Yes, it can be cumbersome to set up earlier access and note takers. But come on—-
University is about learning. Also, it concerns me that certain faculty members do not agree with the mission of giving equal access to education for all.
I certainly disagree with excessive accommodation, where accommodation itself becomes a discrimination. But I fully agree we should do our very best to accommodate those that need help. Not only schools but the society as a whole.
I pray for a peaceful and wise resolution.
I also pray that we teachers try to love more and truly do our best to teach 😀
