Today’s morning sermon was about 2 Corinthians 8:5.

And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.

Our pastor asked the question whether we are giving ourselves to God. How much we are giving to Jesus and whether we were being fair and faithful to God.

That got me thinking about all the times that I skipped tithing years ago and when I tried to negotiate deals with God when giving offering. Man, I was bad. Thankfully, now I tithe and give more. The amazing thing is that God has been even more generous. He has blessed me and my friends and family. It is amazing how loving and generous God is. All we have to do is let go. And honor God.

Despite the progress, even now I debate a lot when Holy Spirit asks me to give more. Not just money but my time and talents. So far I believe that I have been good but with deeper prayer, I realize that I have a long way to go. Also, Holy Spirit has been kind and shown me how much time and talent I waste (Yeah…less YouTube and gutter talk). All in all, God is faithful and generous. It is still a process but I believe that when we give ourselves more to God, He will not only bless us but nations.

Thank You Jesus for being so kind and loving. Let our lives be a pleasing offering to You.
