Oxfam stated that billionaires can end world poverty seven times!

Whoa-

I am not so sure how they got that figure but here are my thoughts-

First, yes, the rich should help out with society more. Because that is how you spread love and joy.

God clear says to give is better than to receive.

God also says that we should help the poor-

Proverbs 22:9

“Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” 

However, I do not believe that just giving out money is the solution to end poverty.

If it was so easy, Buffett and Gates would have probably decreased poverty much more than now-

Throwing money helps often. Some places just need food, water, and necessities and that will get them going.

However, as research shows economic development is related to institutions.

You need good institutions that will make good use of resources. Just throwing money

does not help. Africa has received much aid but due to corruption and inefficiency,

things did not improve. Hence, charity and development strategies have shifted to

entrepreneurship and education.

It is very dangerous and misleading to say that just giving money will solve poverty.

Therefore, I urge for more prudent giving-

Also, let us continue to pray for the brothers and sisters in poverty. I pray that God blesses them.

I pray that 2018 is a year of more serving and love.
