Yesterday it was very windy. My small plants were thrown off into the air. It was very windy and may be that had to do something with a five to ten minute blackout, which..threw away my work ahhhh. Well, it was only 20 minutes worth of work so it was not so devastating. But the loss of electricity reminded me both how fragile cities are and how we should be thankful. Also, today, my apartment had to cut off water due to urgent repairs. So no electricity or water, cities become literally massive concrete graves.
Reminded of my days in Ecuador and Brazil, where we had electricity cuts, I decided to purchase some emergency power. No, I cannot offer a generator. I already have a hand cranked generator. Not very effective but still useful in dire situations. So I purchased a solar battery pack. Well, I know solar is not the most efficient but we are in LA plus the battery pack had a flash so it was a good deal. Anyway, always be ready, electricity and water are not granted. More importantly, let’s be thankful for everything that God has given us 😀
