Too much bread

Indeed, there is so much wasted bread in the US!

It is estimated that at least 19% of the food waste is bread! Wow–

So much precious food wasted…Also, a waste of land, fertilizer, and water…..

What can be done? We can work on both on the demand and supply side.

First, as consumers, we should buy bread from bakeries that try their best to not waste bread. Bread subscription models is also an alternative.

Second, we need to raise the price of producing bread. Right now, it is way too cheap which causes waste of water, land, and fertilizer.

Third, for now, we can collect all the leftover bread and redistribute as much as we can.

I pray that we waste less bread and share more ^^
