Reflection

1 Kings 18: 43-46:

“Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.“There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

I am amazed at the power of God. I am more amazed by Elijah’s faith. Seven times, there was no sign of a cloud but after the seventh time, there was a shower. Often we give up too easily. Instead of trusting Jesus, we say oh man, we are screwed. From now, we should really be more patient and persevere. Through obedience, we will give glory to Jesus.

Fasting really makes you sharper and holier. I think I just become too satisfied after a good meal. When I fast, I am hungry so I am able to feel people’s pain more and know God’s heart better. Plus, I can concentrate better not sure why. And I lose weight 😀

News

  1. Way too much bureaucracy is costing us too much. You don’t need to far. Just see your organization and you will be shocked. Fortunately, automatization here and it will not slow down. Also, there are leaner startups that are putting pressures on traditional companies. I pray that the excess is gone and that those who are affected find other jobs and work.
  2. Yup, overclaiming is rampant. Thankfully, I am educated in the environment, where we are to be skeptical. Also, believing in Christ, gives you wisdom to discern. But I need to be more humble 😀
  3. Colgate has the banned substance Tricolsan. It is uncertain whether Tricolsan really affects human health severely but I would be safe. I will just brush my teeth more often and eat less sweet stuff.

Water Scarcity

Wharton podcast discusses water scarcity. The podcast was quite interesting because it emphasized restoring the soil, vegetation, and animals to  restore water. Basically, help the soil hold more water by having more trees and animals that drill holes so the water is saved in the soil. It made good sense and I hope we start doing more conservative effort in the US.
