Reflection

2 Kings 3: 23-24. From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.

This is a hard passage to understand. So youth gets killed for making fun of a prophet..hmmm…Yet if you meditate about it, you learn that you should respect man of God because God chose them. And making fun of them is the same as insulting God. In essence, although the passage seems rough and a bit too drastic, let us remember to respect God’s people.

Daily

I have learned about caring more about the process. Of course that has been my mantra for many years. Yet when I am taking care of souls, I realize that I wanted quick results. Instant healing and miraculous conversions, I should be more humble and patient. I trust Jesus will do the work. I just pray that I become more loving and obedient.

  1. One third of married couples do not know much about the other’s financials. This is really bad. Of course, you should not trade credit scores during dating but one should ask at some point during the relationship. Let us not forget that money issue is the number one cause of divorce. So let us be wise and know the financial situation of the significant other. For God defines marriage as two becoming one. And it is a good idea to know more about the other half.
  2. More people are prepping for the worst. I am all for being ready and prepared. Even I have a hand cranked radio, water purifier, and a fire starter. Of course, God says that we should be wise. However, taking to the extremes, may not be good. You may be wasting resources that could have been used for my productive means. Also, let us remember that it is Jesus that protects us. So let us have faith and
  3. Sea weed farming is  6 billion dollar business. I always loved sea weed. It is nice to see that more people appreciate sea wee. Hope that this growth in sea weed farming leads to more conservation and restoration of our seas.

Major Agriculture Merger

Bloomberg Law discusses the Bayer-Monsato merger. There is substantial risk of anticompetitiveness after the merger. Personally, I predict that the new merged company will charge higher prices to farmers, increasing food price, which is not good. Hence, I believe that the merger will not go through. Also, farmers should develop their own techniques and rely less on fertilizers.
